DJs who also promote their own events often face a sometime uncomfortable challenge…how to bill yourself within a solid DJ lineup? If you’re throwing your own event and have other DJs, some well known and maybe some not so well known, where do you place your name on the promotion? At the top? In the middle? At the bottom? I don’t think anyone intends to come across as pretentious and usually tries to exercise a certain amount of modesty when doing this. However, it’s your event and NO ONE is going to promote it as hard as you are. So what should you consider when making this decision? (more…)

Welcome!

This is my first blog post about DJ marketing. I started this blog because I am a true “house head” and want to share some valuable marketing tips with my fellow deep house djs not only help them get more gigs, but help get our music get out there more.

So I hope you’ll check in regularly because I have an endless stream of ideas to promote yourself that I am happy to share with other DJs. Some marketing tips will be simple, immediate and will cost you nothing. While others will be more involved, take time to implement and pricey.

Either way, do what works for you and I hope you’ll interact with me and others by commenting on my posts. Please join in and share your ideas. Let’s also try to keep it positive and constructive. We’ll have a lot more fun this way.
